How it all started

It all started around 1997 with a small group of Boston software professionals using email as a means to keep in touch and ask questions while at work. The email list grew rapidly through word of mouths. Within a year more than 200 members were using the list to discuss different topics and issues.

The list grew exponentially by the day as there were people writing in from New York, Florida, Massachusetts, Port-au-Prince, Montreal, Paris, etc...

On the web

The list went through some serious difficulties as we were trying to form a ruling committee to move it from an email list to a web site. But in the end the whole idea of a web site survived, and thus the advent of haitianconnection.com.

Haitianconnection.com has changed the way Haiti is represented online. Since the advent of haitianconnection.com, other Haitian sites have taken greater care in their effort of making an online presence and representation of Haiti.

Haitianconnection.com is all about community. It provides a clear and simple medium for connecting people all across the world.
